Chalfont - December 5, 2002 - As a recipient of the 2002 Philadelphia 100 Award, The Adventure Network, Inc. was recognized as one of the fastest growing privately held firms in the Philadelphia region. The company posted revenue growth of 76% from 1999 to 2001 and 2001 profitability of 11-15%. The company was honored, along with the other award recipients, at the annual awards ceremony, which took place on October 24, 2002 at the Hyatt at Penns Landing, Philadelphia, PA.
David Pastorok, founder of The Adventure Network, Inc. attributes much of the company's recent growth to maturity. "I had no sales or marketing background, so I experimented a lot. I saw what worked and what did not work, and built the business from there," he said. David also owns The Adventure Center, home to the Doylestown Rock Gym. "The gym is an excellent complement to what we do at the Network. Just this fall, we used the gym several times when inclement weather required us to move our programs indoors," said Pastorok.
"The Adventure Network is a unique organization. Our staff, with their diverse backgrounds, combined with our large and assorted "tool chest," position us to serve clients from the corporate sector as effectively as our clients in the 6th grade," said a company spokesperson. The diversity in staff includes backgrounds in education, psychology, training and development, substance-abuse prevention and treatment, as well as construction. In fact, The Adventure Network is one of only 29 companies in the United States certified to build and inspect ropes courses for other organizations.
The Adventure Network, Inc., established in 1986, provides experiential teambuilding and leadership development services to business and industry groups as well as schools and universities. Ropes courses, team challenges, assessment instruments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicatorâ, and rock climbing trips are some of the tools used by the Adventure Network to reach clients' goals.
The Adventure Network has been featured on the CBS News with Dan Rather, in the Philadelphia Inquirer, The Doylestown Intelligencer, on Suburban Cable's "Sportsline", and most recently in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
